Despite the increasing number of return-to-office mandates, the majority of employees remain hesitant to return to the physical workplace. Consequently, a trend known as "coffee badging" has emerged as a response. This practice involves employees scanning their badges, engaging in brief coffee chats with colleagues, and then discreetly leaving to work remotely. Essentially, they are punctuating their remote work routine with a short visit to the office instead of committing to a full day on site. It's important to consider the possibility of employees manipulating badge data in a hybrid work environment, as this could result in incomplete data collection.
